The Heritage Club recognizes individuals, couples, and businesses that make a contribution to support the South Sound YMCA’s Endowment Fund. There are many ways to make a gift to support the Y’s endowment. Gifts are classified in two categories: outright and deferred. Outright gifts are those whose ownership passes to the South Sound YMCA at the time of the donation. The two most common types of outright gifts are cash and appreciated assets. Another type of current gift is a charitable lead trust, which makes payments to the South Sound YMCA for a certain number of years and then returns the principal to you or distributes it to your heirs. Deferred gifts are those whose ownership passes to the South Sound YMCA after a specified period of time or after the donor’s death and include:
Careful financial planning can minimize your tax liability in life and allow you to pass on more of your assets to the people and causes you care about. Please seek the advice of an attorney or financial advisor before making a decision on this matter.
