Sharon is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Educator who has worked in the field of nutrition for over 25 years. She works at St. Peter Hospital in the diabetes clinic and the teen pregnancy clinic. At the Y, she has been the leader of our ACT program and has taught many cooking classes. She also works with members to develop a personalized nutrition plan that improves their health and fits their lifestyle.

Steve

Steve has done a lot of things in his life. He spent 21 years as an officer in the U.S. Army. He -taught middle school science and math. He self-published four novels and two books for children. And now, he is a 68-year-old ACE-certified personal trainer specializing in senior fitness. Steve’s goal is to help people understand that there is life after 60 and that health and vitality is alive and well at 60, 70, 80, and beyond.

Qualifications:

  • ACE Personal Training Certificate
  • Specialty in senior fitness
  • Focus on health challenges such as cardiovascular disorders, asthma, osteo, and others

Matsimela

Matsimela has over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry. He was a certified personal trainer in Washington, D.C. for 8 years before moving out West and pursuing an ACSM CPT certification. His training philosophy is centered around cultivating the client’s strength, power, mobility, and cognitive function. In short, he likes to help people move, look, and feel better!

When Matsimela is not in the gym, he can be found studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Muay Thai. His passion for fitness & lifelong dedication to this industry has given him extensive knowledge. He can’t wait to help you reach your fullest potential!

  • Hatha Yoga certified instructor

  • CPR Certified
