Healthy Living for Your Brain & Body

A representative from the Alzheimer’s Association, Washington Chapter, will host a talk entitled “Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body: Tips from the Latest Research” on Saturday, June 25 at 12:15pm at the Plum Street YMCA. We hope that you will join us!
Alzheimer’s disease is a concern for many. No one knows the exact cause of Alzheimer’s disease, but scientists do know that genes are involved.
Research has also shown that healthy lifestyle behaviors were associated with substantially lower risk for Alzheimer’s disease. There are five specific healthy behaviors found to lower the risk of Alzheimer’s. These are: physical activity, not smoking, light-to-moderate alcohol consumption, a high-quality diet, and cognitive activities. (Source: National Institute on Aging)
