A Y LIKE NO OTHER
Over the last year, the South Sound YMCA and the Mason County community have worked together to raise $13 Million to build a new facility in Shelton, Washington. We are scheduled to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2019!
The planned facility is like no other Y in the country. It is designed to support the specific needs of Mason County’s rural community. The space will include traditional YMCA features like a top-notch workout facility, Kid Zone, and activity pool along with space dedicated to our local partners:
- Mason General Hospital
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Washington
- PAC Mountain Workforce Development Council
- Peninsula Community Credit Union
- More to come!
Together with our partners, we will create a welcoming space for all individuals in our community that addresses the social determinants of health in ways that foster equity and access for all.
Leave your legacy in our community by donating to the Mason County / Shelton Capital Campaign today!
Y CARE - PARTNERING WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS
The Y is about more than shiny new buildings – we are committed to ensuring all individuals in our community have opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive in ways that foster their potential.
This is why we are partnering with the Shelton School District to offer before and after school child care at two local elementary schools beginning in the fall of 2019!
To register for care at Bordeaux or Mountain View Elementary or to find out more about youth programs in our YMCA, visit our child care page.
Every child deserves a place to belong, opportunities to achieve, and caring adult mentors to foster self-esteem and help them through their journey to adulthood. This is what YMCA Youth Sports is all about.
The Y will begin providing these opportunities for growth and development in Shelton! Soon, we will have practice locations and begin hosting a portion of our games each season in Shelton / Mason County.
Please check back later for more information on how to register.
