Sharon is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Educator who has worked in the field of nutrition for over 25 years. She works at St. Peter Hospital in the diabetes clinic and the teen pregnancy clinic. At the Y, she has been the leader of our ACT program and has taught many cooking classes. She also works with members to develop a personalized nutrition plan that improves their health and fits their lifestyle.
ALEXIA
Alexia is a NASM personal trainer. At the Y, Alexia offers one-on-one training along with small group training. Alexia instructs the Strength Squad classes and the Strength Recovery classes. Her favorite form of training is weightlifting, but she hopes to continue to expand her knowledge of Pilates and calisthenics.

DUKE
Duke is a Health & Wellness Coach and Personal Trainer experienced in Diabetes Prevention work. Duke enjoys working with older adults because he gets clear about your fitness goals, identifies strategies to manage limitations, and designs a program to safely make progress using cardio equipment, nautilus machines, free weights, and group classes. Duke absolutely loves this YMCA and is a big believer that nobody does it by themselves. He enjoys being part of a team that makes sure everyone feels welcome and gets the personal support they need for healthy living.
Duke is a retired business exec with three grand daughters! Duke is a lifelong athlete who enjoy backpacking and long-distance biking.

Matsimela has over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry. He was a certified personal trainer in Washington, D.C. for 8 years before moving out West and pursuing an ACSM CPT certification. His training philosophy is centered around cultivating the client’s strength, power, mobility, and cognitive function. In short, he likes to help people move, look, and feel better!
When Matsimela is not in the gym, he can be found studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Muay Thai. His passion for fitness & lifelong dedication to this industry has given him extensive knowledge. He can’t wait to help you reach your fullest potential!

Growing up, a big part of Mike’s life was playing sports and eating healthy. In the early 1990’s, Mike began his Health and Fitness education leaning towards personal training and nutrition. Over the past 30 years, Mike has focused on training and developing his own physique to help understand overcome the stumbles we all face when we begin transforming our minds and bodies.
