Teen Leaders

Out-of-the-box learning experiences for future leaders

CREATING THE NEXT GENERATION’S LEADERS

You can meet many of tomorrow’s leaders at the YMCA. Teens improve their social and leadership skills all while discovering how they can give back to their communities.

Teen Leaders Club

Teen Leaders Club is a program for teens ages 12-18 that provides opportunities for personal and professional development. Leaders are forces for good in our communities and are intentional about serving others. It is organized for the purpose of providing knowledge, training, and experiences to teens so that they become strong leaders in their communities, fosters a spirit of service to others and to shape a healthy lifestyle in Mind, Body and Spirit.

Leaders Clubs typically meet once a week for an hour. During these meetings, they plan out service projects, discuss upcoming events and trips, and vote on which types of development opportunities they would either like to attend or bring into their future meetings.

Being part of a Teen Leaders Club is a commitment. Teens are expected to attend club meetings and activities as well as volunteer at their Y or in their community. A core part of the program is that teens take an active role in planning and facilitating club activities. Like many other youth programs the more time, effort and energy a teen puts into Leaders Club the more they’ll receive back.

Teen Leaders Club runs January 23 – May 22, 2023.
The group meets once a week on Mondays from 6-7pm at the Shelton Family YMCA.
Open to everyone ages 12 to 18.
Financial assistance is available.
