Seasonal Day Camps

Memories that last a lifetime

SUMMER CAMP 2020

HELLO YMCA FAMILIES!

Online registration for summer day camp is open!
You don’t need to wait for the Y to re-open to register.

Please know the health and safety of our campers, staff, and families are our highest priority. That said, we believe that more than ever, there is a need for kids to develop social skills, make new friends, nurture their creative side, and be physically active.

As we keep safety at the forefront, we’ve already made some changes to this summer’s schedule. We’ve canceled our Resident Camp offering this year, as well as our youth sports programs this summer. Our day camps will have a lower capacity and a new model with kids in small groups with social distancing measures in place. Similar to our currently offered school closure camps, we will follow the Department of Health/CDC guidelines closely.

Unfortunately, these added measures for our day camps come at an increased cost compared to our published Summer Camp Guide – an increase of $20 per week. If you’ve already registered for camp, you have the option of paying the additional fee or canceling for a full refund, including deposit. Our goal, as always, is to make programs affordable to all, and this decision wasn’t an easy one. We hope you can understand our need to cover our expenses to operate sustainably. As always, if the cost is an issue, we encourage you to reach out to discuss financial assistance options.

Please read below to view the changes for this year’s summer camp schedule. We look forward to seeing you this summer.

Financial Support

DONATE

At the Y, we believe that all children should have a safe, nurturing place to learn and thrive. For more than one-quarter of families in our area, however, providing this environment during the summer months is not financially possible. This is why we don’t turn anyone away because of inability to pay and offer financial assistance to 1 in 4 children in our summer programs.

As you think about what camps and activities your child will enjoy this summer, please consider a donation to ensure that another child has the same opportunities. Together, we can ensure that all children thrive.

FINANCIAL AID

We strive to keep the Y accessible to everyone. With the support and generosity of our donors through our annual campaign, we assist everyone who qualifies.

Please fill out the electronic Financial Aid Request form and submit via email.

USING DSHS SUBSIDY

No need to register in person! Families who currently receive DSHS subsidies can register online using the DSHS weekly camp headings.

Power Scholars Academy

POWER SCHOLARS ACADEMY IS CANCELED

In the Y, we believe in the potential of every child. We also know that not all children have access to the resources and support that make it easier to reach this potential. One specific way this plays out for many children is a steady slide backward in academics, especially in the summer months.

Power Scholars Academy is a 5-week summer learning experience that combines academic instruction with fun, hands-on enrichment activities, field trips, and service projects. The program, co-created by BELL and YMCA of the USA, is designed to help scholars gain new skills and confidence so they are prepared to enter school in the fall ready to excel and reverse the summer slide in academics.
